Hi! Sam here! I’m an aspiring fashion designer who seeks to incorporate The Lord’s creation into fashion design. My dream is to one day be fully financially self sustained by my clothing brand, Outwest. Other endeavors on my “checklist of life” include directing a movie and creating a videogame. I love the creative process in fashion. In my own process, I draw inspiration from earth tones, naturally occurring patterns, and organic shapes due to my love for outdoor activities and being in nature. My personal favorite pieces usually include interesting patterns, unique functionality, versatility, whether it be reversible or interchangeable, and textured fabrics. Current fashion designers that inspire me most are Reese Cooper, Salehe Bembury, and Kiro Hirata. When I’m not designing or communicating with manufacturers, I spend my free time playing with my pets, reading comic books, hanging with friends, sewing personal 1 of 1 pieces, listening to music, and going out to get boba tea (hopefully not more than once a week). My main goals this year are to establish a business relationship with a US based clothing manufacturer and release my first full collection!
